Graduate Attributes 101
Workshop material from presentation held July 13, 2021
In order to maintain our critical accreditation, each program must provide evidence that our students are attaining key “attributes” as defined by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB). Moreover, our programs need to also be performing “continuous improvement” – i.e. finding evidence-driven actions and processes to improve curriculum and student learning.
This workshop provided:
- an introduction to the CEAB assessment criteria (graduate attributes)
- background on creation of learning outcomes statements
- description of a methodology for performing outcomes based measurements

Continuous Improvement Through Self Assessment
Our objective is to encourage faculty members to reflect upon their contributions to our student centred research focused Faculty and University and, whenever required, help them identify opportunities to work with Department and Faculty leaders to enhance these contributions.

Assessment Design Workshop Materials
The reiterative process of teaching and learning, particularly between making instructional (or program) decisions and acquiring (and interpreting) evidence of the learning outcomes, places quality assessment at the centre of continuous improvement in education.
